Are you an experienced Freelance Site Engineer specializing in rail renewals projects? I am recruiting for a reputable Tier 2 subcontractor seeking a skilled and reliable individual to join our team for a long-term position across the Kent and Sussex regions.

If you're a dedicated and experienced Site Engineer looking for a stable, long-term freelance opportunity with a leading subcontractor, we want to hear from you!

The Role:

While primarily office-based, you'll be instrumental in supporting the delivery of essential rail maintenance works, including Under Track Crossings (UTX), drainage systems, trough routes, and track works.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing project documentation and paperwork, including the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Ensuring the quality of work by reviewing site reports and liaising with on-site teams.
Applying for necessary permits, including Permits to Dig.
Coordinating Temporary Works documents to ensure compliance and safety.
Supporting the team in delivering essential rail maintenance works, including:
Under Track Crossings (UTX)
Drainage systems
Trough routes
Track works

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on rail maintenance projects, with a strong emphasis on office-based duties and paperwork management.
Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) ticket is essential.
Access to your own vehicle and a full UK driving license.
Strong understanding of rail infrastructure, safety regulations, and Network Rail processes.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Proficient in producing and managing RAMS, ITPs, and temporary works documentation.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
