Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking a PTS Site Engineer for a long-term rail infrastructure project in West London. You will lead on-site civil engineering activities, ensure quality and safety compliance, and manage documentation and material take-offs.

Applicants should hold a PTS certification and have experience with Principal Contractors on UK rail projects, with a strong background in civil railsworks and drawing interpretation. Flexibility for weekend/shift work is required.

  • Ensure rail safety compliance during possessions and inductions

PTS Site Engineer

Location: West London

Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Project: Long-Term Rail Infrastructure Project

Shift Pattern: Day Shifts, Night Shifts, and Weekend Possession Work (as required)

The Role

Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a valid PTS card looking for a long-term contract in West London?

We are seeking a high-caliber PTS Site Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure project delivered by a Tier 1 Principal Contractor. In this role, you will lead on-site civil engineering activities, manage quality compliance, and drive rigorous standards across network assets.

Note: This position has been determined as Inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Supervision & Principal Contractor Liaison: Oversee day-to-day civil engineering activities on site, ensuring full compliance with design specifications, Network Rail standards, and Principal Contractor safety frameworks.
  • Quality & Assurance Compliance: Lead the preparation, implementation, and sign-off of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
  • Commercial & Material Take-Offs: Perform accurate material take-offs, manage procurement requisitions, and track material utilization to minimize waste.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce, review, and maintain technical submittals, task briefs, work package plans (WPPs), and quality assurance records.
  • Site Safety Leadership: Ensure strict adherence to rail safety regulations during possession windows, participating in pre-work briefings and site inductions under PTS conditions.
Key Requirements
  • PTS Certification: Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification (AC/DC).
  • Principal Contractor Experience: Demonstrable track record working with a Principal Contractor on UK rail infrastructure projects.
  • Civil Engineering Background: Strong expertise in rail civils, setting out, reading technical drawings, and site delivery.
  • Compliance & Technical Competence: Hands-on experience developing and managing ITPs, AMPs, and material take-offs within highly regulated environments.
  • Location: Based in or around West London (or easily commutable to West London site locations).
  • Flexibility: Fully available and willing to work weekends, night shifts, and possession windows as required by project schedules.
