Job summary

East Lancashire Learning Group's Accrington and Rossendale College is seeking a PTHP Lecturer in Motor Vehicle on a part-time hourly paid basis. The role focuses on delivering Motor Vehicle qualifications and developing learners in our well-equipped workshops.

Candidates should have GCSEs including Maths and English, a level 3 qualification, and a teaching or assessor qualification, with willingness to achieve the latter within three years.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Motor Vehicle curriculum up to Level 3.
• Teach on Motor Vehicle programmes and manage learner progress.
• Develop employer relationships to support industry placements.
• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality teaching in workshops.
• Assess and monitor learner progress regularly.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

• For candidates with relevant experience, have specific responsibility for developing the Motor Vehicle curriculum and developing employer relationships to support industry placements.
• Teach on other Motor Vehicle programmes as required (Entry level to Level 3), up to 810 teaching hours per annum
• Be up to date, plan and prepare high-quality teaching as required by your Line Manager
• Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources
• Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress

What We Are Looking For:

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
• Minimum level 3 qualification in a related subject
• Recognised teaching and assessor qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment
• Assessor and Verifier Qualifications
