Psychology Graduates needed for local SEN Schools in Southwark.

Working as a TA or LSA
Within SEN: EBD, ADHD, SEMH

* Will you be able to keep calm and professional in a challenging situation?
* Are you an experienced SEN or SEMH Teaching Assistant/ Behaviour Support worker who is passionate about working with young people?

A SEN school based in Southwark which caters for students with ADHD, SEMH, PMLD and challenging behaviour are looking for a SEN TA to join their school staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. To work alongside the class teacher and other members of staff to maintain a meaningful, supporting and secure learning environment.
2. To deliver small group/1:1 interventions.
3. To aid staff in delivering educational programmes.
4. To be part of a classroom team, under the direction of the class teacher and or learning mentors.
5. To participate in team meetings, reporting on pupil performance.
6. To support pupils with their personal and behavioural development.

The Ideal Candidate will:

1. Have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs in particular EBD, SEMH or ADHD.
2. The ability to demonstrate the value of education whilst keeping the pupils safe.
3. Team Teach Qualification or other positive handling experience.
4. An up to date Enhanced DBS, preferably on the update service.
5. Is positive, dedicated and resilient - as it is a challenging role, but can be very rewarding.
6. Have excellent verbal and written skills.
7. Have a calm, patient and positive approach to your work and the ability to communicate well on all levels.
