Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND at a specialist school in Gateshead. This full-time term-time role offers £98-£115 per day with an immediate start.

You will work under experienced staff providing 1:1, small-group or class support, helping with learning, behaviour and communication while receiving full training.

Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEND school in Gateshead seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

This is particularly suited to graduates interested in child development, behaviour, mental health, SEND or Educational Psychology.

What Will You Do?

Working alongside experienced school staff, you'll help pupils to:

• Engage with their learning
• Manage emotions and behaviour
• Develop communication skills
• Build confidence and independence
• Develop positive relationships
• Participate in classroom activities
• Overcome individual barriers to learning

You may provide 1:1 support, small-group support or whole-class assistance, depending on the needs of the pupils.

Your Psychology Knowledge Can Make a Difference

Understanding behaviour isn't just about what's happening on the surface. In a SEND environment, you'll have the opportunity to develop your understanding of individual needs, communication, emotional regulation and child development.

Full training and support will be provided, so previous school experience isn't essential.
