Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking Psychology graduates to join SEN schools in Gateshead as Teaching Assistants starting September 2026. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping those with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other needs access learning in a calm, inclusive environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Psychology degree, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with children. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential; training and CPD are provided.

Calling all Psychology Graduates!

Fancy turning your Psychology degree into real-world experience? If you’re interested in child development, mental health, Educational Psychology, therapy, teaching or SEND, this could be the perfect next step.

Protocol Education is working with a range of welcoming SEN schools across Gateshead who are looking for Psychology Graduates to join their teams from September.

You’ll work closely with pupils who may have Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and additional learning needs, helping them feel confident, supported and ready to learn.

Role Details
  • Location: Gateshead
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Pay: £92.63-£98 per day

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
