Job summary

Educato Limited is partnering with Oldham SEND schools to recruit enthusiastic Psychology Graduates as SEN Teaching Assistants. The role is temporary, full-time (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-3:40pm) with pay from £112.59 per day and an expected end date of 23 July 2027.

You will support pupils with SEND, work 1:1 or in small groups, assist with communication and social skills, and help create an inclusive learning environment. A psychology degree is required; experience is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Child Psychology or a related subject.
• Genuine interest in child development, SEND, mental health or educational psychology.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, adaptable and positive when faced with challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and learning disabilities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and social interaction.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
• Use positive reinforcement and consistent strategies to encourage engagement.
• Observe pupils' needs and progress and share information with teachers.
