Psychology Graduate Secobndary Teaching Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with young people before taking your next career step?

We are recruiting for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the LS12 area of Leeds. This is an ideal opportunity for a Psychology graduate interested in education, SEN, behaviour, child development or working with young people.

You’ll be working with secondary-aged pupils, supporting them both academically and pastorally and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The role

Working alongside teachers and the wider support team, you will help pupils stay engaged, confident and supported throughout the school day.

You may be involved in:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with their academic work
  • Working with students with SEN and additional needs
  • Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
  • Supporting interventions and targeted activities
  • Building positive relationships with students
  • Using your understanding of psychology and behaviour to adapt your approach
  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
Who we’re looking for

A Psychology degree is essential.
