Job description

Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a specialist educational setting? Do you want to work in a role that genuinely supports your next steps in Educational Psychology, Therapy, or SEND Teaching?

This is more than just a graduate role – it’s a chance to be part of a pioneering approach to special education, guided by an experienced leadership team that’s shaping the future of SEND provision.

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support in a SEN school based in North Bristol. They are a KS1-5 ASC school who provide a personalised academic, emotional, social, sensory and physical learning experience for autistic students. All the children have a range of needs such as ASD, SEMH and PLMD. The school offers an environment in which pupils experience success and progress, where each individual develops self-confidence and has high self-esteem. They strive for the highest standards and develop a “can-do” approach to learning and social interaction.

Many psychology graduates go on to pursue careers in Educational or Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or SEN teaching. This role provides the essential, real-world experience these fields require – while giving you the opportunity to support children who benefit so much from your skills and empathy.

What we are looking for:

  • A recent graduate in Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with children or adults with additional needs is preferred but not essential
  • A caring, patient, and proactive individual who is ready to get involved and learn strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

About the role:

- Immediate start

- £13.75 per hour

- Monday – Friday

- 08:30- 15:30

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
