Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a Psychology Graduate Trainee SEND Support Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Wallsend. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH, under the guidance of class teachers and the SENCO.

You will help maintain calm routines, support literacy and numeracy, and promote social skills while learning hands-on in a practical school environment.

Qualifications

• A Psychology graduate (or similar degree) is required.
• Experience with SEND, behaviour or child development is helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and take feedback in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
• Help pupils manage behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Use strategies such as visual prompts and calm routines to support learning.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy tasks at an appropriate level.
• Encourage social skills and confidence during lessons and break times.
• Support structured interventions and tailored learning activities.
