Job summary

Shire Healthcare is seeking an HCPC-registered psychologist to join its CAMHS inpatient service in south Hertfordshire. The role focuses on children and young people (ages 8-18) with eating disorders within an MDT environment.

The post holder will conduct assessments, deliver high-quality clinical interventions, and engage in both direct and indirect clinical activities, exercising autonomous clinical judgement.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist.
• Experience working with children and young people with eating disorders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and triage referrals.
• Provide initial assessments for referred service users.
• Deliver direct psychological interventions and therapeutic treatments.
• Provide indirect interventions such as consultation, clinical advice and evaluation.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments using structured psychometric tools and semi-structured interviews.

Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a HCPC reg. Psychologist to join a specialist inpatient CAMHS service in south Hertfordshire.

Role snapshot:

The candidate appointed will be working with children and young people (ages 8-18) based in an inpatient care who present with eating disorders.

The post holder will be joining a well-established MDT and will participate in the assessment and triage of referrals, providing initial assessments for service users referred to the service. Deliver high-quality direct clinical interventions, including psychological assessments and therapeutic treatments, alongside indirect interventions such as consultation, clinical advice and evaluation, exercising autonomous clinical judgement.

The post holder will work therapeutically with service users presenting with complex mental health needs, undertaking comprehensive assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric assessments and semi-structured clinical interview methods.

Contract type – permanent

Hours – both part time and full time will be considered.

Salary - up to £55,000 FTE

Experience required:

Candidates applying will hold HCPC registration as a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist and will have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders.
