Base pay range

Locum Specialist Psychologist – Pain Management (Band 8a)

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Health, or Counselling) to join a multidisciplinary pain management service in North London on a locum basis.

This role is ideal for a psychologist with a strong interest in working with individuals experiencing persistent pain, and who is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological care within a biopsychosocial framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct specialist psychological assessments and deliver tailored interventions for patients with complex chronic pain presentations.
• Facilitate individual and group-based psychological therapies, including contributions to Pain Management Programmes.
• Provide consultation and psychological input to the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the pain service.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Post-qualification experience in physical health or pain management settings.
• Competence in delivering psychological therapies such as CBT, ACT, or other relevant models.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Location: North London
• Start Date: Flexible
• Working Pattern: Full-time or part-time considered
• Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience
