Job summary

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the Talking Therapies team on a permanent basis. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a Band 5 salary and involves delivering high-quality mental health support to the community through guided self-help and digital programmes.

PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING PRACTITIONER (PWP)

Job overview

We are seeking qualified PWP's to join our dedicated team in NELFT Talking Therapies on a permanent basis. We are looking for full time positions available for 37.5 hours per week with a competitive band 5 salary. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering high quality mental health support to the community using guided self help and digital programmes.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Skills

• Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments.
• This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.
• 6. Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.

Computer/Administration

• To attend team and psychology business meetings regularly.
• To develop and facilitate effective means of disseminating relevant information to colleagues.
• To keep accurate and up to date case notes, information and other documentation in accordance both with the teams’ operational policies and the Trust’s policies and procedures

Training

• To make a significant contribution to the team’s professional development by providing teaching in various appropriate areas of clinical skills and knowledge as identified in the service’s business and training plans.
• To attend regular clinical supervision to maintain skills as a reflective practitioner, develop and focus practice and share ideas about therapeutic work

Personal Development

To maintain high professional standards by attending relevant teaching/training events within and outside the Trust, as agreed with the manager and clinical lead, and as part of a PDP and appraisal process.

Professional Standards

To work to a set of objectives based upon a personal appraisal agreed with the manager and clinical lead.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137) pro rata for part time staff.

When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not included to ensure fairness and consistency within our Trust.
