The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS, Forward Thinking Birmingham) is seeking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist as part of its commitment to continue to provide an outstanding model of care & treatment for the young people (aged 0-25) and families of Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic therapist who is committed to working with young people and young adults with Eating Disorders including ARFID.
SEDS is an established, ambitious community eating disorders mental health team. We are keen to drive forward service improvements through research, development, co-production, and co-learning in our specialist area. We have strong links with the University of Birmingham, University of Warwick, and Kings College London (SLaM). We also work closely with charities such as BEAT, First Steps ED, and The Feeding Trust to co-produce initiatives aimed at improving access and enhancing ED care and treatment. We are committed to early intervention and are members of the FREED network.
The post holder will provide specialist CBT interventions and contribute to the assessment, formulation, and delivery of evidence-based psychological treatments for young people with eating disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaboratively develop a formulation-driven understanding of presenting difficulties and needs.
While prior experience working with eating disorders is beneficial, we welcome applicants with transferable CBT skills and knowledge, as there is scope for development in this role. You will receive support, guidance, and opportunities for learning and development from within SEDS and the wider FTB Psychological Therapy community. FTB has a vibrant community of psychological therapists, and you will be warmly welcomed by colleagues across all therapist groups.
The service is part of Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust, formed in February 2017 to provide high-quality physical and mental health care for women, children, and families.
