Job summary

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is recruiting a full-time fixed-term Psychological Interventions Practitioner to join the Psychological Interventions (PI) Team, working with adults with learning disabilities across Worcestershire.

The role requires a registered professional skilled in Positive Behaviour Support and a passion for improving lives of people with learning disabilities and their carers.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or mental health issues in learning disabilities or relevant further training or experience.
• Extensive post-registration experience working with people with learning disabilities and behavioural/mental health needs that challenge services.
• Experience of assessment and delivery of therapeutic interventions with people with learning disabilities and their families.
• Provision of consultation to other agencies around psychological interventions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out evidence-based assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities who present with psychological and behavioural distress.
• Hold a caseload with emphasis on Positive Behaviour Support; work with individuals, families and carers to improve quality of life.
• Provide consultation to MDT members and other agencies; offer bespoke person-centered training.
