Newbury & District is seeking a PSV/HGV Technician at the Newbury depot to maintain and repair heavy vehicles to high standards. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and work within a safety-conscious workshop environment.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 2:00pm–10:00pm with occasional weekend work. NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent is required; PSV/HGV experience is preferred. Competitive hourly pay plus a night premium after 6pm.

Job Title: PSV / HGV Technician

Location: Newbury

Salary: £21.80 per hour plus £4.29 per hour night premium for all hours worked after 6pm

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 2.00pm - 10.00pm. Occasional weekend working required.

We are looking for a PSV / HGV Technician to join our engineering team at our Newbury depot. We want hard-working, self-starting individuals with a passion for repairing and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles. You will play an important role in ensuring our fleet is maintained to a high standard and operates safely and reliably. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician, mechanic or vehicle engineer looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs as required

Experience & Qualifications

• Hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
• Have experience maintaining and repairing PSV, HGV or commercial vehicles
• Have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems
• Be confident diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and high standards of workmanship
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• A PSV licence is preferred, although not essential.
