FirstGroup plc in Sheffield is seeking an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) PSV/HGV Mechanic to join the busy First Bus Sheffield Olive Grove Depot. Experience on HGV/PSV is valued, and ex-forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship are encouraged to apply. A valid UK driving licence is required.

The role involves diagnosing faults, performing repairs and servicing, plus attending to on‑road breakdowns. Applicants will undergo background checks per UK employment requirements.

Competenze

• NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience on HGV or PSV.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for mechanics.

Mansioni

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs and part replacements to keep vehicles safe and reliable.
• Perform scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries and road-test vehicles as required.
• Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.
