Job summary

First Bus Weston-Super-Mare Depot is seeking a NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our busy team. The role is dayshift with 39 hours per week, typically 06:00-14:00, at Searle Cres, Weston-Super-Mare. A £3,000 joining bonus is on offer.

You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical repairs and servicing, complete routine inspections, and handle on-road breakdowns with attention to health and safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience on HGV or PSV vehicles.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on PSV/HGV.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out routine inspections and respond to on-road breakdowns/ recoveries.
• Road test vehicles and ensure documentation complies with regulations and health & safety standards.
