Job summary

First Bus in Wells is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic to diagnose faults, repair vehicles and perform routine servicing at Wells Depot. You will handle preventative maintenance, road tests and on‑road recoveries, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Applicants should have a Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair and a valid UK driving licence. The role is on-site, with shifts Mon 6am‑2pm, Tue‑Fri 10am‑6pm, offering a £3,000 joining bonus and a strong

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on vehicles.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and routine inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance and replace parts as needed.
• Respond to on‑road breakdowns and recoveries and road test vehicles.
• Ensure documentation complies with regulations and health & safety standards.
