Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) provision in Fleetwood on a full-time basis. You will work with pupils requiring additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them access education in a safe environment.

Key duties include supporting learning, managing behaviour, and assisting with administrative tasks. The role requires experience in similar roles and a patient, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
• Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organisational and administrative abilities
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach

Responsibilities

• Providing individual and small-group support to pupils within the PRU provision
• Promoting positive behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies effectively
• Building strong, professional relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering learning activities
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting on pupil progress and behaviour
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Completing administrative tasks, including maintaining records, updating documentation, and supporting reporting processes
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, school leaders, and external agencies where required
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
