Job summary

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is seeking a Contract Prototype Machinist in Leicestershire for a global motor industry manufacturer. You will develop prototype components, machine to tight tolerances, and set up and operate lathes, milling and drilling equipment.

Working on a contract basis, the role is inside IR35 with a £25 p/h umbrella rate, on days, Monday to Friday. You will read technical drawings, use precision measurement tools and assemble prototype builds to exact design specifications.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets technical engineering drawings.
• Operates workshop machines including lathes, mills and drills.
• Uses precision measurement tools to verify parts.
• Develops prototype components and assembles builds to spec.

Our client is a specialist global manufacturer in the motor industry sector. They are seeking a Contract Prototype Machinist to join their existing team. As a Contract Prototype Machinist, your role will focus on product development, machining prototype components, working to tight tolerances, setting and operating workshop machinery.

Contract Prototype Machinist Responsibilities:

• Working to technical engineering drawings.
• Setting and operating workshop machines including lathes, milling machines and drilling machines.
• Using precision measurement tools.
• Assembling prototype builds to the exact design specifications.

Contract Prototype Machinist Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a Machinist position.
• Experienced setting and operating workshop machinery.
• Able to read and work to technical engineering drawings.
• Must possess a working knowledge in sheet metal, fabrication and inspection.
• Must be a team player.
• CAD experience would be beneficial.
