Job summary

10a Labs in London is seeking a Protection Scientist Engineer to design and build systems that proactively identify and enforce on abuse in AI products. You will collaborate with Product, Policy, and Engineering to ensure robust abuse monitoring for new and existing products, and prototype defenses against high‑risk harms.

You will need strong Python and SQL skills, an investigative mindset, and the ability to work remotely from the UK with an on‑call rotation that may require occasional

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and SQL with ability to query and transform data.
• Quantitative background with statistics/metrics.
• Experience identifying and enforcing on bad actors with scaled tooling.
• Willingness to be on-call roughly once per quarter, including evenings/weekends.
• Remote UK-based; GMT working hours.

Responsibilities

• Scope and implement abuse monitoring requirements for new product launches.
• Improve processes to sustain monitoring operations for existing products, including automating subtasks.
• Prototype and mature production systems of detection, review, and enforcement of abuse for major harms.
• Collaborate with Product, Policy, Ops, Investigative, and Engineering teams to address key risks and ensure data availability and scaled tooling.
