Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Protection Relay Programming & Testing Engineer for MV/LV protection systems. You will program, configure, test and commission protection relays across ABB, Siemens and Schneider gear, ensuring correct protection coordination and fault-free operation.

You will work with IEC 61850, Modbus, Profinet, and industrial Ethernet, supporting FAT/SAT, site testing, and final validation of protection architectures. 7–12 years' hands-on experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in protection relay programming, configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for MV and LV protection systems.
• Experience with protection relays from ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric.
• FAT/SAT, commissioning, site testing, and final validation of MV/LV protection systems.
• Ability to verify relay settings against protection coordination studies.
• Prepare relay setting files, test procedures and commissioning reports.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, test and Commission protection relays for MV/LV protection systems.
• Perform secondary injection testing, functional testing, trip testing, and interlock verification.
• Review protection architectures, SLDs and network topologies.
• Integrate protection relays with PLC/RTU, SCADA/EPMS and industrial Ethernet networks.
• Carry out FAT/SAT and field commissioning, troubleshooting and validation.
• Verify IEC 61850 data models, GOOSE/MMS configurations and IED communication.
