The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Protection Product Consultant to join our team. You'll help design, implement, and manage Zurich’s protection products that our customers need to secure their financial futures.

This role supports all stages of our protection product development plan. You'll work in multi-functional teams to balance speed to market, project costs, regulatory compliance, and shareholder return, ensuring all developments focus on good customer outcomes.

We seek someone who puts customers first and understands the UK financial services market, ideally with retail protection experience. You should be eager to learn about the entire customer journey to ensure our protection plans deliver positive results.

Our flexible working arrangements include part-time, flexible hours, job share, multiple home office locations, hybrid working, or compressed hours. Periodic travel to Swindon for face-to-face meetings is expected. Please discuss your flexibility needs during the interview process.

What will you be doing?

You’ll collaborate with Proposition Development and other teams to design, implement, and maintain propositions on our Life Protection Platform.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Analyze market, competitors, and customer needs to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Develop ideas to enhance propositions to meet customer needs.
• Assess feasibility of new product ideas, build business cases, and advise on proceeding.
• Lead or support projects to refresh or create protection propositions.
• Work with experts across the business to ensure customer needs are met with personalization and flexibility.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks related to delivery and regulation before launch.
• Maintain propositions on industry quote portals and advice systems.
• Understand regulatory changes and their impact, ensuring compliance.
• Gain enough understanding of protection plan economics, such as pricing and reinsurance.
• Act as a retail protection expert, supporting other areas as needed.
• Build and maintain a network of relevant experts.

• Understanding of the advised and UK Life market; experience in the non-advised market is a plus.
• Experience in the UK Retail Protection market preferred.
