The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Protection Product Consultant to join our team. You'll help design, implement, and manage Zurich’s protection products that our customers need to secure their financial futures.

This role supports every stage of our protection product development plan. You'll work in multi-functional teams to balance speed to market, project costs, regulatory compliance, and shareholder return, ensuring all developments focus on good customer outcomes.

We seek someone who puts customers first and understands the UK financial services market, ideally with retail protection experience. You should be eager to learn and understand the entire customer journey to ensure our protection plans deliver good results.

We support flexible working arrangements, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, and hybrid working. Periodic travel to Swindon is expected for face-to-face meetings. Please discuss your flexibility needs during the interview.

What will you be doing?

You’ll collaborate with Proposition Development colleagues and other teams to design, implement, and maintain propositions on our Life Protection Platform.

Other key responsibilities:

• Analyze the protection market, competitors, and customer needs to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Develop ideas to improve existing and new propositions.
• Assess feasibility of new product ideas, build business cases, and recommend actions.
• Lead or support projects to refresh or create protection propositions.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure changes meet customer needs with personalization and cost-efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to delivery and compliance before launch.
• Maintain propositions on industry quote portals and advice systems.
• Understand regulatory changes and their impact, ensuring compliance.
• Understand the commercial aspects like pricing and reinsurance.
• Act as a protection expert across the business.
• Develop and maintain a network of relevant experts.

• Understanding of the advised and UK Life market; experience in non-advised market is a plus.
• Experience in UK Retail Protection is preferred.
