Job summary

AVD Appoint Ltd is seeking a Protection Design Engineer to join a West Sussex-based engineering team. You will lead full life cycle design from inception to completion, interpreting customer needs to deliver robust electrical solutions.

Working within a multi-disciplinary group, you will create wiring diagrams, manage BOMs, and liaise with purchasing while collaborating with other engineers. There is potential to contribute to mechanical enclosure design if desired.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience designing electrical circuits as a Protection Design Engineer or similar.
• Experience with circuit breakers, MCCB, MTAG, and REF.
• Experience with an Electrical Design package (AutoCAD Electrical).
• Desirable: Switchgear, Power Systems or Power Distribution experience.
• Desirable: Solidworks CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Full life cycle design from inception to completion.
• Interpret customer requirements and design electrical circuits to fulfil them.
• Create wiring diagrams for manufacturing and manage BOMs.
• Collaborate with purchasing; liaise with other engineers; may support mechanical enclosure design.
