Job summary

SSEN Transmission invites experienced engineers to join its Protection & Control team in Scotland. Roles range from Assistant Engineer to Senior Engineer, with responsibilities spanning protection design, setting calculations, and project delivery across multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidates will be based in Scotland with a requirement to spend about half of the week in the office (Perth/Glasgow/Inverness/Aberdeen).

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission protection and control specification.
• Ability to interpret and apply protection schemes and settings.
• Willingness to work in a client/contracting environment in the UK electricity sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection and control engineering support across multiple projects, defining technical scope during development and evaluating designs.
• Configure protection equipment per application and scheme requirements, including setting calculations.
• Assess third-party factory acceptance tests for protection and control equipment.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams to identify risks and opportunities for project delivery.
• Deliver outputs to programme and contribute to digital design capability and standardisation.
