Job summary

Qualifications

• Evidence of management skills within current banding.
• Interest in field of prostate cancer and reading around specialism.
• Autonomous practice and ability to work independently.
• Understanding the role of a clinical nurse specialist (CNS).
• Experience in workload management and participation in service redesigns.
• Knowledge of CNS core skills and autonomous practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist care for patients with prostate cancer within national/local standards.
• Triage referrals within Faster Diagnosis Standard pathway and support straight-to-test service.
• Act as patient key worker and support nurse-led new diagnosis clinics.
• Manage a caseload of patients with locally advanced disease.
• Support delivery of seven-day service where applicable and engage in service development.
