Job summary

Intertek is seeking a proactive Propulsion Test Technician to join our Buckinghamshire facility. You will prepare test hardware, set up engine test facilities, monitor activity and support troubleshooting, maintenance and data management.

The role offers hands‑on mechanical work and opportunities to develop under experienced engineers. You will work with engineers and technicians to deliver customer testing programs in a safe, efficient environment and contribute to high standards of quality and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in automotive, mechanical, electrical, mechatronic or similar industry.
• Experience as a mechanic or vehicle technician is highly relevant.
• Willingness to learn and develop under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on propulsion systems using laboratory‑based facilities as directed.
• Monitor and record test data to meet quality and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot issues methodically and propose solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist in scheduling, documentation, data management and hardware inventories.
• Support hardware assembly, disassembly and modification activities.
• Perform basic fabrication to meet hardware mounting and fixture requirements.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping to keep the facility safe and efficient.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies and processes.
