Job summary

JLR in Coventry is seeking a Rotating Machines Tester/Fitter Technician to prepare, instrument and test propulsion systems, delivering high-quality data to support engineering decisions across current programmes.

You will work on durability, performance, emissions, certification and research activities, collaborating with expert technicians to push powertrain development forward while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 Apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
• Proven experience with engines, powertrain or mechanical test equipment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics to technical procedures
• Experience using instrumentation or data acquisition systems to support testing
• Ability to work safely in a safety-critical environment with high attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Prepare, instrument and install units under test to meet programme requirements
• Operate propulsion test facilities and deliver accurate and repeatable test data
• Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification on propulsion systems
• Support data analysis and root-cause investigations to improve quality
• Maintain high safety, quality and housekeeping standards in the test environment
