Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover in Wolverhampton is seeking a Propulsion Test & TAG Technician to support propulsion testing, validation and investigations within the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC).

You will work with a team of technicians to ensure testing standards, data analysis and quality improvements, and may cover early/late shift patterns as required. A STEM NVQ Level 3 and hands-on experience with propulsion systems are essential.

Qualifications

  • Holding a STEM NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Demonstrating technical knowledge of propulsion testing, including engines, electric drive units and battery systems.
  • Applying experience within test cell environments and using relevant testing, calibration and data analysis tools.
  • Using problem-solving methodologies and analytical skills to investigate issues and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Building effective relationships across teams, influencing stakeholders and communicating technical information clearly.

This role currently operates on a 2 shift pattern (Earlies 06:00-14:00 and Afternoons 14:00-22:00 (less 1 hour on a Friday) but may move to a 3 shift pattern (Earlies, Afternoons and Nights22:00-06:00)

As a QE Propulsion Technician, you'll play a key role in validating propulsion test processes, supporting investigations and helping deliver robust, reliable products for our clients.   • Validating test processes and results, ensuring testing standards, conformity requirements and procedures are consistently applied
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify issues, support problem-solving activities and deliver sustainable improvements
  • Developing and maintaining testing processes, facilities, equipment readiness and supporting documentation to improve operational effectiveness
  • Analysing propulsion test data and supporting quality investigations, strip‑down activities and component assessments to drive quality improvements
