Job summary

Siemens in Manchester is seeking a detail-oriented Proposals Engineer to join the Project Execution team. You will translate client needs into compelling technical and commercial bid content and coordinate cross-functional inputs to win profitable projects.

The role offers an annual bonus, flexible working hours, and a generous pension; occasional travel is expected as part of client engagements.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Software) or a related field.
Experience in proposals, applications, or project engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, Drives, and Industrial Automation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all proposals are technically accurate, commercially viable, and submitted on time.
Translate complex client specifications into persuasive technical descriptions, executive summaries, and clear project scopes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Legal, Finance) to align proposals with business and client goals.
Develop competitive pricing models and commercial terms while identifying and mitigating potential project risks.
Drive continuous improvement by analysing bid outcomes and maintaining a high-quality repository of proposal templates.
