Job summary

Somerset Council’s Property Service is offering an Apprentice position as a Property Technical Support Apprentice in Taunton. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting a busy property team and developing practical finance, administration and data management skills while earning and learning.

Study will be virtual with some in-person meetings at County Hall, Taunton or training locations. The role includes 37 hours per week and a 24-month fixed-term contract, with progression through a Level 3

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above or equivalent qualifications.
• Demonstrates numeracy and data handling abilities.
• Willingness to learn new systems software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial and administrative processes that enable the team to deliver effective services.
• Support the smooth running of property services by helping to maintain accurate records, systems and information.
• Respond to enquiries from colleagues, schools, contractors and suppliers, providing helpful and timely support.
• Help produce reports and manage data that informs decisions about council properties.
• Learn and contribute to service improvements, helping the team work efficiently and deliver the best possible outcomes.
