Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking a Recovery Operations Manager in the UK to lead a team delivering property recovery outcomes. You will manage the performance of the recovery function, balance complex caseloads, and drive continuous improvement across processes and client outcomes.

You will work closely with senior leadership, clients, insurers, and legal partners to maintain high service standards while developing the team’s capabilities and ensuring effective governance of recovery matters.

Overview

Join Strata Solicitors as a Recovery Operations Manager, where you will be responsible for the successful delivery and performance of our Property Recovery function. Leading a team of Recovery Specialists, you will ensure excellent customer outcomes, strong operational performance and high service standards, while maintaining responsibility for your own caseload of complex and high-value recovery claims.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will drive continuous improvement, support client relationships, monitor financial and operational performance, and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the department. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical recovery professional who enjoys combining hands-on case management with people leadership and operational oversight.

How you'll make an impact

• Leading, coaching and developing a team, creating a high-performing and customer-focused culture.
• Managing operational performance against agreed service levels, KPIs, financial targets and quality standards.
• Maintaining responsibility for your own caseload of complex, high-value and litigated property recovery claims.
• Acting as a technical referral point, providing guidance and oversight on complex recovery matters.
• Overseeing the successful handling of litigated and non-litigated property recovery claims across the wider team.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurers, solicitors, counsel and other key stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, governance and customer outcomes.
• Supporting business growth, client retention and service development initiatives through excellent service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
• Producing management information, analysing performance trends and contributing to departmental strategy and continuous improvement.

About You

• Experience within property recovery, subrogated recoveries, claims, insurance, legal services or a related field.
• Previous people management or team leadership experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of the recovery process and claims lifecycle.
• Experience managing complex, high-value or litigated matters.
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and team development.
