Job summary

Gallagher Bassett, in partnership with Strata Solicitors, is seeking a Senior Associate - Property Damage to lead and manage a portfolio of complex recovery claims, both litigated and non-litigated. You will mentor colleagues, provide technical guidance, and build strong relationships with clients, insurers, and external counsel to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex, high-value litigated and non-litigated property recovery claims from inception through to settlement.
• Deliver excellent client service, ensuring claims are progressed efficiently and in line with agreed service standards.
• Act as a technical referral point for colleagues, providing guidance and support on complex recovery matters.
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development and technical capability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, solicitors, counsel and other key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to maximise recoveries and achieve positive outcomes for clients.
• Ensure accurate file management, reporting and adherence to legal, regulatory and internal governance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance processes, service delivery and operational performance.
• Support business development and client retention activities where appropriate.

Overview

Join Strata Solicitors as a Senior Associate - Property Damage, where you will play a key role in delivering successful outcomes across a portfolio of complex and high-value recovery claims.

As a technical specialist within the team, you will manage your own caseload of litigated and non-litigated property recovery matters, providing excellent client service while driving strong financial and operational performance. You will also support and mentor colleagues, act as a technical referral point on more complex cases, and contribute to the continuous development of the Property Recovery function.

How you'll make an impact

About You

• Proven experience handling property recovery, subrogated recovery, defendant recoveries or related insurance litigation matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of the recovery process, including litigated and non-litigated claims.
• Experience managing complex and high-value claims or caseloads.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build credibility with clients and stakeholders.
• A proactive and commercial approach to case management.
• Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues would be advantageous.
• Qualfied Solicitor.
