Neway International are seeking a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer to join our client based with West Sussex County Council in Chichester.

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer to join Place Services. This temporary role will provide support during a peak in workload, focusing on securing suitable accommodation for refugee, resettled, and migrant families across West Sussex.

Work collaboratively with Communities directorate teams, District and Borough councils, and external partners to secure appropriate housing.

Responsibilities
  • Support refugee and migrant families in finding affordable accommodation and overcoming barriers to housing.
  • Prevent premature termination of accommodation placements by providing proactive support.
  • Build strong working relationships with estate agents, landlords, and the Home Office to secure property within West Sussex.
  • Provide direct support to families relocating to the UK, ensuring sustainable housing solutions.
  • Contribute to reducing reliance on temporary accommodation.
  • Travel county-wide to meet families and partners, including locations not easily accessible by public transport.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with council policies and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with families, landlords, and partner agencies.
  • Experience in housing, property, or community support roles.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and deliver outcomes under time constraints.
