Job summary

Insure Recruitment is seeking an experienced Property Underwriter to join its Real Estate team in Croydon. You will underwrite Property Owners and Real Estate risks, manage renewals and build broker relationships within a specialist MGA environment.

The role offers hybrid working, a broad portfolio, and development opportunities to advance your underwriting career within a seasoned Real Estate team.

Qualifications

• Previous Property or Property Owners underwriting experience.
• Good understanding of commercial and/or residential property risks.
• Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment skills.
• Experience working with brokers and developing productive relationships.
• Confidence to make commercial underwriting decisions within authority.
• Proactive approach and interest in developing within the Property market.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and existing Property Owners and Real Estate risks within authority.
• Assess commercial, residential, mixed-use and portfolio business.
• Consider complex and non-standard property risks as appropriate.
• Review presentations, claims information, valuations and risk details for underwriting decisions.
• Negotiate terms, pricing and coverage with brokers.
• Manage renewals and identify opportunities to retain and grow profitable business.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and provide a responsive underwriting service.
• Collaborate with underwriting and distribution teams.
• Maintain underwriting discipline, governance and portfolio performance.
