Long Stratton Town Council in Norfolk is seeking an apprentice Property Maintenance Operative (Level 2) to learn how to maintain, repair and install council assets and open spaces, including buildings, play areas, street furniture and equipment.
The role provides on-the-job training over 2 years 3 months with CITY COLLEGE NORWICH, a 40-hour week, and may lead to a permanent position within the Council. Weekend work may be required.
Working with the Direct Services Officer, the successful applicant will learn how to maintain, repair, install council assets and open spaces. This includes buildings, play areas, street furniture, speed awareness machines and much more. It is a varied role and no two days are the same.
Long Stratton Town Council is the third tier in local government and comprises of 13 Councillors who meet regularly to make decisions on how we can deliver essential services and infrastructure for the benefit of the local community. We are non-political. Once the Council have made the decision it is the Council officers to carry out their decision making. There are currently 8 members of staff. All roles within the Council are varied and no two days are the same. There is routine work that needs to be carried out however there is also a lot of adhoc work. All work carried out is in the public domain.
