Job summary

SBHA in the Scottish Borders is advertising a General Labourer role. Full time, permanent, 37 hours per week, salary £25,878 to £27,271 per year. Closing date 7 September 2026. The job involves assisting maintenance teams, health and safety compliance, and ensuring high standards for tenants.

The role requires a current UK driving licence, and SCQF level 3 passes with English and Maths. A supportive environment and opportunities for development are described.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three passes at SCQF level 3, including English and Maths.
• Customer-focused approach to delivering services.
• Knowledge in general construction Health & Safety.
• Able to carry out work with minimal supervision.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks safely.
• Able to work from ladders and scaffolding.
• Holder of a current UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled trades and maintenance teams with general labour duties on projects and contracts.
• Follow instructions to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Provide good customer service to Tenants and communicate before/after appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work areas.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and SBHA policies.
• Participate in training and development as required.
