Job summary

Trethowans is seeking a Solicitor (1-3 PQE) to join its Property Litigation team in Southampton. You will advise clients on property disputes, develop technical expertise and take increasing responsibility for your own matters with support from partners.

The role offers a diverse caseload, opportunities to build client relationships and a clear path for career progression within a leading regional firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE in property litigation.
• Experience in property litigation or a strong interest to develop a specialist career.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contentious property work.
• Willingness to take increasing responsibility as experience grows.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on a wide range of property disputes.
• Assisting with landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, forfeiture, possession claims and breaches of covenant.
• Advising on easements, rights of way, restrictive covenants, boundary disputes and adverse possession claims.
• Supporting on development related disputes and other complex real property matters.
• Managing your own caseload appropriate to your experience, with supervision from senior colleagues.
• Drafting correspondence, pleadings and other legal documents.
• Assisting colleagues on complex and high-value disputes.
• Participating in business development and helping to build client relationships.
• Working collaboratively across the wider firm to deliver practical and commercial solutions.
