Our property litigation team is going from strength to strength and as a result we're committed to further recruitment. We're looking for a bright and inquisitive lawyer, from NQ+ level, to join our exceptional Bristol -based team where they can enjoy all of the benefits of our newly refurbished office.
About us
As a Top 100 UK law firm, we're known not just for the quality of our work, but also the quality of our people. We have four offices in Bristol, Birmingham, London and Watford and are well placed to service our national clients. We are ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 across a number of areas, with individuals from this team gaining individual recognition.
There are 3 partners in the Bristol office, being supported by a senior associate, 2 solicitors, a trainee and 2 paralegals. With a wider team in London and Watford, you will enjoy the opportunity to work with other lawyers across our offices. We are always mindful of career progression and most of the team has worked together since being newly qualified.
The role
Forming part of our larger real estate department, our property litigation team is friendly and welcoming and we regularly get together socially. As part of a close knit team, your workload will include commercial landlord and tenant disputes, lease renewals and advice on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, serving notices such as breaks and advising on disputes regarding freehold property (such as advising on restrictive covenants and easements). Please note, we do not expect you to have gained exposure to all of these areas.
We act for both landlords and tenants so you'll enjoy gaining experience from both sides of the fence. Whilst the breadth of work is outstanding, we are always open to you developing a specialism. Those related to the team include the likes of telecommunications, agriculture, ecclesiastical and infrastructure. Whilst we encourage our junior lawyers to find a niche of their own, if you'd prefer to maintain a broad platform, then that's just fine.
With our supportive supervision structure, you'll soon develop the confidence to take on your own case load, but we won't rush you- we understand that everyone needs differing levels of supervision. With the opportunity to work for clients in our different sectors including education, health, charities and corporate occupiers, you'll relish the fact that no two days are the same.
We celebrate our culture of team work and collaborative working. With the variety and quality of work that we can offer, you will be involved in interesting matters to gain experience and to progress within the firm.
Where will I be working?
We have been adopting a hybrid model of office and remote working. As a junior lawyer we would encourage you to spend 3 days a week in our newly refurbished Bristol office to make the most of our supervision and guidance through this stage of your career. We are happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
If you require any special adjustments to be made in order to be considered for this vacancy please call our recruiter as we're happy to make the necessary adjustments and allowances.
