Job summary

Simpson Judge's growing property litigation team in London seeks a technically strong Associate or Senior Associate with 3-7 years' PQE to manage a varied caseload in residential leasehold and landlord and tenant disputes.

You will work with landlords and managing agents on high-value matters, draft pleadings and statements, and develop advocacy experience while benefiting from flexible location and remote-working options.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years' PQE in property litigation with residential leasehold experience.
• Experience handling service charge and lease interpretation disputes.
• Ability to manage files independently with limited supervision.
• Strong drafting, technical and client-management skills.
• Experience involving the Building Safety Act, Remediation Orders, or leasehold reform is advantageous.

The opportunity

A specialist and growing property litigation practice is seeking a technically strong Associate to join its established team.

This position would suit a Associate or Senior Associate with 3-7 years' PQE who has hands-on experience in residential leasehold and landlord and tenant litigation. You will manage your own caseload with minimal supervision while supporting senior lawyers on more complex and high-value matters.

The practice acts for landlords and managing agents across substantial property portfolios, providing exposure to both volume instructions and technically challenging disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Managing medium to high-value property litigation matters.
• Advising on residential leasehold and landlord and tenant disputes.
• Handling service charge disputes, breaches of covenant and forfeiture matters.
• Advising on lease interpretation and property-management issues.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements and legal advice.

Candidate requirements

Applicants should have:

• Approximately 3-7 years' PQE in property litigation however if you are a higher PQE, there is scope.
• Strong residential leasehold and landlord and tenant experience.
• Experience handling service charge and lease interpretation disputes.
• Exposure to First-tier Tribunal proceedings.
• The ability to manage files independently with limited supervision.
• Strong drafting, technical and client-management skills.
• A commercially aware and pragmatic approach.

Experience involving the Building Safety Act, Remediation Orders, Remediation Contribution Orders and recent leasehold reform legislation would be advantageous.
