Job summary

BCL Legal is seeking a Housing Management & Property Litigation Lawyer to join its London team. You will manage your own caseload, advising social housing providers, local authorities and private landlords on housing management and property litigation matters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' PQE in housing management, housing litigation or related area.
• Experience managing your own files and caseload.
• Strong technical knowledge and sound case management skills.
• For FCILEx candidates, Civil Litigation Practice Rights are essential.
• The ability to work independently with appropriate support when required.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident, professional client relationship approach.
• Commercial awareness and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage housing litigation and housing management matters from inception to resolution.
• Draft and respond to injunction applications and proceedings.
• Handle possession claims and disrepair claims.
• Provide policy and strategic housing advice to clients.

Our client is a well-established and growing UK law firm with a strong reputation in the social housing and housing management sector. The firm is looking to appoint a Housing Management & Property Litigation Lawyer to join its London team.

This is an attractive opportunity for a lawyer who wants genuine responsibility from the outset. You will manage your own caseload, work directly with established clients and have the opportunity to work alongside experienced partners on more complex matters.

The Housing Management & Property Litigation team advises more than 100 Registered Providers (RPs), local authorities and private landlords across England and Wales. The team provides specialist advice across a broad range of housing management and property litigation issues, acting for clients on both contentious and advisory matters.

Your work is likely to include:

• Housing litigation and housing management matters.
• Injunction applications and proceedings.
• Possession claims.
• Disrepair claims.
• Policy and strategic housing advice.
• Advising social housing providers, local authorities and private landlords.
• Supporting partners on larger and more complex matters.
• Managing cases from inception through to resolution.
• Providing practical and commercially focused advice to clients.

The role also offers the opportunity to become increasingly involved in client relationship management, business development and knowledge-sharing, helping you to develop beyond purely technical legal work.
