hihouse is seeking a Property Inventory Specialist (freelance) to perform property inventory reports (check-ins, check-outs and midterm inspections) at Leatherhead (KT22). You will verify appliance operation, collect meter readings and test items using our bespoke software.

This self-employed role requires a flexible schedule (including most Saturdays and public holidays), a minimum of three days per week, and strong communication skills.

Description

Perform property inventory reports (check‑ins, check‑outs or midterm inspections) with great attention to detail to spot and report defects or discrepancies in a property. Review the working order of appliances, collect meter readings, and test the functional items of a property. Leverage our bespoke software and app solutions to fulfill inspections efficiently.

Escalate noticeable maintenance and cleanliness concerns to enable reactive decision‑making and improve property and tenancy turnaround.

Serve as a trustworthy point of contact for our team and customers to help process enquiries promptly and accurately.

Contribute to healthy professional relationships within the team, at client offices, and demonstrate an appetite for success.

Deliver inspections at our site location in Leatherhead (KT22) and have access to a car or be comfortable traveling via public transport.

Requirements

• Be available to work on a self‑employed flexible schedule based on business needs, including most Saturdays and public holidays.
• Commit to a minimum of 3 days a week.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and accurate descriptions.
• Be comfortable using smartphones or tablets and digital tools.
• Have an observer mindset that understands nuances between the parties involved at work.
• Have a minimum level of endurance; the role is largely lone standing.
• Be confident working independently with always‑on support and mentoring.
• Provide a basic Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check completed within the last two months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within property inventories and/or surveying environments.
• Experience within the real estate industry.
• Experience using InventoryBase inventory solutions (training provided).
• Excellent collaboration and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to set priorities, stay disciplined, and manage a busy diary.
• Ability to learn, navigate and use new tools and systems.
• Experience working to pre‑defined deadlines.

Training and Support

• Extensive property inventory training (2‑4 weeks paid).
• Personal mentoring and always‑on support to ensure completion of work.

Equipment

• Company iPhone, utility keys and required tools.

Pay

Pay rates are dependent on experience and start from £30 per property inspection completed. Payments are made on a completed inspection basis, with potential for higher earnings through competitive economies of scale depending on the time of year. Performance bonus is available for high achievers. Monthly payment terms are in place.

Employment Status

This role is offered on a self‑employed basis. You are responsible for your own expenses and tax returns. We provide comprehensive guidance to help you manage tax returns and expenses.
