About the team

Property Services department plays a vital role in the smooth running of Squared by currently looking after 800 plus properties, including homes, hostels (both internal and external), and office premises. The department has a small in-house team and works closely with approved local contractors.

The service involves working across departments on a wide variety of activities and initiatives.

About The Job

The role involves conducting regular inspections, identifying maintenance issues, ensuring compliance with housing legislation, and working with maintenance teams, external contractors, and our compliance team to maintain safe and suitable accommodation. Inspections and surveys are carried out to meet standards, policies, and regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct property inspections, diagnose repairs, and identify solutions for damp, mould, and disrepair issues in social housing, recommending effective and cost-efficient repairs.
  • Inspect and approve completed works, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation using our management system.
  • Raise maintenance work orders for properties, ensuring effective recording and timely completion of paperwork.
  • Carry out quality health & safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure properties comply with housing and safety regulations, including risk assessments and hazard identification.
  • Review and update policies regularly.
  • Assist in setting departmental targets and achieving maintenance and repair KPIs.
  • Participate in training to update knowledge.
  • Follow Squared’s policies and procedures, including health and safety, fairness, and lone working protocols.
