Job summary

Alexander Daniels Finance is partnering with a central Birmingham property management business to recruit a Property Finance & Client Accounts Manager who will take full ownership of the finance and client accounting function across a 1,300‑property portfolio.

You will be the financial heartbeat of the business, delivering accurate reporting, VAT compliance, reconciliations, and proactive financial insight in a fast‑paced environment with real responsibility and visibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, client accounting, or property accounting.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT, and payment processing.
• Confident managing client money accounts.
• Advanced Excel and strong systems skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building ability.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
• Property sector experience or accounting qualifications (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Managing day‑to‑day finance operations and client accounting
• Producing financial reports, forecasts, and performance insights
• Maintaining accurate landlord and tenant ledgers
• Rent, fee, and income allocation & reconciliation
• Twice‑weekly payment runs and contractor payments
• VAT preparation, submission, and compliance
• Bank reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
• Credit control and aged debt management
• Processing and coding invoices
• Handling client financial queries with professionalism and clarity
