Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Desktop Property Adjuster for an office-based role in Nottingham. The role involves managing a varied portfolio of domestic and/or commercial property claims from instruction to settlement, with a focus on thorough investigation and fair, timely decisions.

You will review policy wordings, assess coverage and quantum, and work closely with policyholders, brokers, surveyors and contractors to deliver accurate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience handling domestic and/or commercial property insurance claims.
• Ability to interpret policy wordings and exclusions to decide claims.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Well-organised with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of a portfolio of domestic and/or commercial property claims through to settlement.
• Investigating claims thoroughly to establish coverage, liability, causation and quantum.
• Assessing buildings, contents, alternative accommodation and other claim costs.
• Reviewing surveyor reports, contractor estimates, schedules of works and photos.
• Keeping customers informed with clear explanations of decisions and next steps.
• Negotiating settlements within delegated authority and client requirements.
