Role Summary and Purpose

This role will achieve income and profit objectives through delivering efficient case underwriting services to brokers, including regular on-site broker development, and supporting the technical management of the regional account in line with regional strategy, financial plans, and personal objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Service Existing Business within risk selection, appetite, and authority parameters.
  • Follow the 4 Call Process to maximize opportunities.
  • Meet Bottom Line, Top Line, and Expense targets by managing Key Performance Indicators of the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers to enhance Arch’s local presence.
  • Display strong negotiation skills to improve conversion and relationships.
  • Maintain technical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Contribute market intelligence feedback to the Regional Director and team.
  • Collaborate with claims and survey teams when needed.

Role Requirements & Skills

  • Experience in underwriting preferred.
  • Proven track record in underwriting.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to price risk appropriately.
  • Experience in developing effective trading relationships.
  • Consistent achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and build relationships.
  • Operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum A-level standard preferred.
  • Professional certification, with progress towards ACII preferred.

Experience

Ideally, candidates will have experience in the Commercial Insurance industry, strong interpersonal skills, and a structured, organized, and planned work approach.
