We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to be a key part of Chubb's Underwriting Team. The successful candidate will have experience in multiline P&C underwriting and will be responsible for growing the Portfolio with key Brokers and Clients, while maintaining and developing existing accounts. This role can be based in our Leeds or Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budgets, and local business plans.
2. Represent and promote Chubb to brokers, internal stakeholders, and external clients.
3. Service key producers and clients through proactive external visitation, monitor business acquisition and retention, and maximize cross-selling opportunities.
4. Assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategies, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve profitability, ensuring quality control within your responsibility area.
5. Contribute to product development within your areas of expertise to improve client retention and attract new business, collaborating with peers across business lines in Europe and globally.
6. Ensure compliance with company standards regarding policy documentation, quoting timeframes, and regulatory issues.
7. Manage junior colleagues, providing mentoring, training, and coaching to maintain a high-quality underwriting team.
8. Allocate resources effectively to meet business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Extensive market experience
• ACII qualification preferred
• Ongoing development of technical and business skills
• Comprehensive understanding of Corporate Underwriting, the insurance market, and competitors
• Significant experience dealing with brokers and clients
• Results-driven with the ability to work independently and make decisions
• Recognized externally as a professional in the field
• Leadership, training, mentoring, and people development experience preferred but not essential
