Job summary

Osterna is seeking a Property Assessor to join our Asset Compliance team. In this field-based role you will conduct fire asset checks, on-site property inspections and EPC assessments to keep homes and communal areas safe and compliant.

You will work independently across London and surrounding areas, travelling to sites, with a focus on producing high-quality, accurate reports and adopting a professional approach with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification is essential.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality assessment reports.
• Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and web-based platforms.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach.
• Ability to undertake regular site visits, including walking and stair use.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out fire asset checks in line with internal procedures, identifying risks or defects.
• On-site property inspections including checks of fire doors, emergency lighting, alarms and sprinkler systems.
• Completing full domestic EPC assessments with data capture and lodgement.
• Supporting additional inspection types as the service develops.
• Maintaining accurate inspection records and submitting findings on time.
• Working flexibly across locations and sometimes evenings or weekends.
• Representing the organisation professionally with residents, clients, and colleagues.

Job description

We're looking for a Property Assessor to join our growing Asset Compliance team within Osterna. In this field‑based role, you'll play a key part in delivering a programme of safety, compliance and property‑related inspections across our portfolio, helping to ensure homes and communal areas remain safe, compliant and well maintained.

This is a varied role that will suit someone who enjoys working independently, travelling to sites, and producing high‑quality, accurate reports. If is essential that you already hold a Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification to be considered for this role

Where will I be working?

This is a field-based role covering all areas of and the surroundings of London, you'll be convenient based to cover your portfolio in these locations and surrounding areas

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out fire asset checks in line with internal procedures, accurately identifying and reporting any risks or defects
• Undertaking on‑site property inspections including essential checks of fire doors, emergency lighting, fire alarms, sprinkler systems within communal and demised areas, capturing clear evidence and escalating issues where required
• Completing full domestic EPC assessments, including measurements, data capture, photographic evidence and lodgement
• Supporting additional inspection types as the service develops
• Maintaining accurate, high‑quality inspection records and submitting findings within agreed timescales
• Working flexibly across locations and, where required, adjusting working hours (including occasional evenings or weekends) to meet service needs
• Representing Osterna and RMG professionally at all times when interacting with residents, clients and colleagues

What we’re looking for

• Experience working in residential or social housing environments
• Previous experience of property inspections, fire asset checks or compliance‑related roles
